What's Happening Mount Eagle

August 23, 2024

Welcome Back to School!

It was a fabulous first week of school here at Mount Eagle! Everywhere in the building, you can hear the buzz of busy students creating and talking together. They are already making new friends, learning important routines and procedures, and showing what they know.

These first weeks of school, teachers will devote lots of time to ensuring students are set up for success.  They will teach how students will move around the classroom and how they will interact with each other.  Students will have time to get to know their classmates, share about themselves, and to build their classroom communities.  This is important work, because strong classroom communities support the rigorous academic work they will engage in together throughout the year.

Back-to-School Night is August 28

We are excited to welcome you to our Back-to-School Night on August 28th!  PTO will have food for sale, and then teachers will present in classrooms. Come hear about what your children will be learning this year, see the space where you child is learning, and connect with other parents!

  • 5:45pm - Doors will open for families who would like to buy dinner and visit specialists
  • 6:30 pm - Families dismissed to classrooms
  • 6:40-7:00 pm - Classroom Session 1
  • 7:10-7:30 pm - Classroom Session 2

Get Involved in Your PTO

At Mount Eagle, every parent is a member of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). It's a great way to connect with other parents, learn about how to support your child, and have fun! There are many ways you can share your voice, talents, and time. Check out the PTO Website for more information. It's available in multiple languages.

Parent/Guardian Handbook

Do you have questions about attendance or food/drink at school or what students can wear? If so, please check out our Parent/Guardian Handbook on our Mount Eagle website. It's available with translations. Click here to access it. Of course, if you have a question about a situation that is not listed, reach out to your child's teacher or an administrator. Their contact information is at the bottom of this newsletter.

Your Partners in Education

We are honored to start the school year with your family, and will work everyday to ensure a safe and positive learning environment for your child. We can't do it alone. Please contact us when there is a question or concern, especially related to bullying. As a parent, you will often hear about something before staff might. Thank you for all of your support.
