Friday Fun
Today students enjoyed the first Friday morning dance party of the year.
A Note from the Principal's Desk
Dear Willow Springs families,
We are very happy to say that we have had a great 1st week back at school. Everyone is settling into the new routines and things have gone very smoothly. Yesterday, we had our first fire drill of the year, and we will have one every month for the rest of the year.
We are so thankful for all of you and for our talented staff who together have made this such a successful week!
We want to remind you that the next two weeks will be short weeks as we all enjoy a long Labor Day weekend. Schools will be closed on Friday, August 30th and Monday, September 2nd.
We are also happy to announce that we will once again participate in the Boosterthon Fun Run fundraiser this fall. This is a fun, outdoor event for the whole school and it is our biggest fundraiser of the year. More information will be coming out soon.
We wish all of our families a safe and relaxing weekend. #WillowPride

The club will offer over 20 competition opportunities throughout the year, providing an incredible platform for our students to challenge themselves and grow. In addition to the regular meetings, students will also have the opportunity to participate in regional tournaments, with top performers advancing to the National Championship.
The Willow Springs PTA is sponsoring the Mindful Math Club for current 5th and 6th graders who love challenging math, enjoy working on math puzzles, and finding different solutions to given problems.

School Hours
The Willow Springs bell schedule is 9:15 a.m.– 4 p.m., Monday-Friday.
During morning arrival, students are allowed into the building at 9 a.m.
- Parents who bring students to school are not allowed beyond the lobby area during arrival. This helps us keep our school safe.
Afternoon dismissal begins at 3:55 p.m.
- Patrols, Kiss and Ride, and SACC students are dismissed first.
- Walkers and students riding the first four buses are dismissed next.
- Students who ride the remaining buses are dismissed as their buses arrive. Bus arrivals are posted on screens in the classrooms. Students must remain attentive and leave promptly when their bus is posted.
The school office closes at 4:30 p.m.
PickUpPatrol is our online system for managing dismissal every day. It is critical that the information in the system is up to date and accurate. Parents, please take a few minutes to login and update your child's information, if you have not already done so. If you do not have an account please contact the front office at 703-679-6000.
Bus Riders
If a student’s bus is delayed, parents may access the Bus Delay Notification System or use the Here Comes the Bus mobile app to receive the delayed bus report. Email messages will be sent to announce significant bus delays. For any concerns after 5:30 p.m., contact Safety and Security at 571-423-2000.
Kiss and Ride
The student drop off and pick up area is called Kiss and Ride. If you will be driving your child(ren) to school, please be aware that the Kiss and Ride line gets very long, so allow yourself extra time.
Please plan on arriving early and allow enough time in your schedule to wait in line for as long as it takes.
Safety at Kiss and Ride during arrival and dismissal is our #1 priority!
Please work with us to ensure safety for all. Students should be prepared to exit the car on their own, without parent support, on the curb-side. This is a serious safety precaution. Staff members and patrols will be there to assist the students as they safely exit the cars. Parents, please plan on following directions from the staff members who will be on duty helping during arrival and dismissal.
If you will be walking to and from the parking lot, be sure to walk in the crosswalk section.
Students may begin exiting cars at 9:00 AM.
In the afternoon, Kiss and Ride begins at 4:00 PM.
