- **Organization:** Help your child get organized by setting up a designated area for school supplies and maintaining a planner to keep track of assignments and upcoming events.
- **Communication:** Encourage open communication between you, your child, and their teachers. If you have any concerns or questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.
We’re excited to embark on this new school year with you and your child. Let’s make it a fantastic year filled with growth, learning, and achievement. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the school office at 571-982-1300.

A Message from our PTO
A Message from our Music Department
FBUS Families - We are currently registering 4th, 5th, & 6th grade students for strings and 5th & 6th students for chorus and band. Students can do band and chorus or strings and chorus but can’t do band and strings. There are sign up letters with QR codes being sent home with students and in their room folders. In case those papers don’t make it home, here is the Chorus Sign Up Form, the Strings Sign Up Form, and the Band Sign Up Form. We hope to start playing instruments on September 2nd and will take students enrolling in chorus, band, or strings until September 27th. After that, we must lock in our enrollment for the rest of the school year.
There are rental flyers from a variety of stores in the main office if you choose to rent an instrument (some even deliver to your home!) as well as hard copies of the sign-up forms if you need more information.
We hope to have your child join us in making music at FBUS this school year!

Elementary Institute for the Arts
Students in all FCPS schools can enroll in the Elementary Institute for the Arts. IFTA is a weekly Arts enrichment program for students in rising 3rd through 6th grades during the month of July. Students take classes in Art, Music, Theatre, and Dance every day. Transportation is provided from around the county. Tuition assistance is available for students who qualify. Check out the Elementary Institute for the Arts website for more information or email eifta@fcps.edu.
FCPS Cares!
The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees at Fort Belvoir Upper ES. We love our FBES staff members, let's tell them how we feel!
