Dear Haycock Families,
We are ready and excited to welcome our students tomorrow morning!
Here are a few reminders to make our first day go smoothly-
Arrival:
Our bell schedule is 9:20 to 4:05. We welcome students into the building at 9:05.
Walkers enter door 12 or door 1 (whichever is closer to your walking route)
Bus riders come in door 1
Kiss and Riders come in door 10
If you are dropping your student off via Kiss and Ride, please do not park your car. Simply drop your student off in the Kiss and Ride line. There will be plenty of staff members available to assist students get to their classroom.
Plan where and how you will say good bye to your student. Except for the parents of our Kindergarten students on the first day, parents will not accompany their children into the building at arrival.
Dismissal:
Students will come out the door they entered in the morning except for Kindergarten students who will come out door 11 (around the side of Haycock where the Kiss and Ride line is).
Be patient with bus transportation the first few weeks of school. As the drivers get to learn their routes and their riders, the morning and afternoon arrival times will normalize and be on time.
See everyone tomorrow morning!
With appreciation for your partnership,
Liz Beaty, Principal embeaty@fcps.edu
Heather Boyd, Assistant Principal HABoyd@fcps.edu
Krystal Styles, Assistant Principal krstyles@fcps.edu

Sign Up for SIS ParentVUE
Access your student’s attendance records, grades, and assignments at any time with SIS ParentVUE. Parents/caregivers should have received an activation code when they register their child. Contact the school registrar Yujin Choi, 703-531-4002, if you need a code.
Update Your Contact Information
To be sure you receive important information from your schools, update your phone numbers and/or email addresses in the Parent/Guardian section of SIS ParentVUE.
Prepare for Meals at School
Parents/caregivers need to provide their students with money to purchase meals at school, send them with a packed lunch, or apply (and be approved) for free and reduced-price meals benefits. School breakfast for students costs $1.75. Lunch is $3.25 for elementary students and $3.50 for middle, secondary, and high school students.
The best way to purchase meals and additional food items is to use MySchoolBucks. If you have not already, set up your student’s MySchoolBucks account today.
MySchoolBucks accounts can be set up to add money to the account automatically as needed, and families with multiple children can use the same MySchoolBucks account.
Apply for Free and Reduced-Priced Meals
The application for free and reduced-priced meals is now available for the 2024-25 school year. Students who were approved for free and reduced-price lunch last year are eligible for the first 30 days of school this year (or until a new application is processed). Families should re-apply as soon as possible, so eligible students continue to receive meals at no cost.
