Strategies Lab Parent Volunteers Needed

Can you offer a gift of time on Friday mornings? Strategies Lab begins next month! The strategies lab is a learning environment that develops critical habits of mind and thinking behaviors. The Lab also promotes risk-taking, social learning, and character development. The hands-on board games, puzzles, and brain activities used in the strategies lab not only improve sensory-motor and visual-spatial skills but also foster higher-level thinking abilities like questioning, problem solving, abstract reasoning, and ingenuity. Volunteers are needed to assist classroom teachers and to set-up, clean-up, and prepare the lab for the next class of students. Volunteers also assist with monitoring the activities and helping students learn the rules. The strategies lab is a great place to volunteer. Please reach out to Lauren McGovern with interest or questions at ldmcgovern@fcps.edu.
