Our teachers are busy preparing their nests for learning, and we’re excited to watch our Eagles grow and thrive this year. Together, we will build a strong and supportive community where every student can reach their full potential.
SEES Eagles S.O.A.R., meaning that they demonstrate: Support, Optimism, Acceptance, and Responsibility. Our goal is to support and encourage each student to achieve their full potential to S.O.A.R. in all areas.

NEST FEST (SEES Open House)
We are looking forward to seeing our Eagles during our Back to the Nest Fest, our Open House event, on August 15!
Event Schedule:
-
3:00 pm to 4:30 pm: "SEES the ROOM". Visit teachers and classrooms (Tip: check your FCPS ParentVue account online ahead of time for teacher assignments).
-
3:00 pm to 5:30 pm: Visit food trucks (starting as early as 2:00 pm)! Visit the PTA table to enter for tickets to LEGO Discovery Center and become a PTA member! Play on the playground! Visit our Community Partners and more!
Event Details:
- Children should arrive with their parents/guardians and stay with them throughout the event.
- Families are invited to stay for the entire event (but do not have to). Bring a blanket and have a picnic (visit one of of the food trucks or bring your own meal).
- You can also drop off school supplies to your child's classroom, bring student medication to the clinic and add money to your child's lunch account in the cafeteria.
Food Trucks:
These amazing food trucks will be at SEES from 2pm to 6pm. Arrive early and grab a bite to eat! Stay late and have dinner and/or dessert!
As with any schoolwide event at SEES, we encourage you to allow extra time to locate parking when making travel arrangements. This is a heavily attended event and our on-site parking is limited. You will most likely need to park on our neighborhood streets - please be aware that Fairfax County regulations state that parking is not allowed within 10 feet of driveways.
Early Release Mondays
The Early Release Mondays planned throughout the school year for elementary schools are essential to allow educators time for planning and professional development. Students will be dismissed 3 hours early seven times throughout the school year and are encouraged to return home via their normal route. However, we understand there may be a childcare hardship because of the early release Mondays for many of our families. To resolve these concerns, student supervision will be available for families who need it.
The following dates are planned for Early Release Mondays at SEES throughout the school year:
- September 16
- October 21
- November 18
- February 10
- March 10
- April 21
- May 12
To help plan for our school’s childcare needs during the early release Mondays, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/wofbemDHM6kHHPvT8 for each of your children who are enrolled at Springfield Estates Elementary. The form covers the first two early release Mondays, scheduled for September 16, 2024 and October 21, 2024. If you have multiple children, you will need to submit multiple forms. Staff will confirm the after school supervision plan for each student.
