If you have additional email addresses that you would like to receive this newsletter, or family/friends/caretakers that would like to stay up to date on school news as well, they can sign up at this link by selecting "Clermont Elementary News and Announcements" under the Elementary School dropdown.

Parents/caregivers need to either provide their students with money to purchase meals at school, send them with a packed lunch, or apply (and be approved) for free and reduced-price meals. School breakfast for students costs $1.75. Lunch is $3.25 for elementary students.
The best way to purchase meals and additional food items is to use MySchoolBucks. If you have not already, set up your student’s MySchoolBucks account today.
MySchoolBucks accounts can be set up to add money to the account automatically as needed, and families with multiple children can use the same MySchoolBucks account.
Apply for Free and Reduced-Priced Meals
The application for free and reduced-priced meals is now available for the 2024-25 school year. Students who were approved for free and reduced-price lunch last year are eligible for the first 30 days of school this year (or until a new application is processed). Families should re-apply as soon as possible, so eligible students continue to receive meals at no cost.
The Early Release Mondays planned throughout the school year for elementary schools are essential to allow educators time for planning and professional development. Students will be dismissed 3 hours early seven times throughout the school year and are encouraged to return home via their normal route. However, we understand there may be a childcare hardship because of the early release Mondays for many of our families. To resolve these concerns, student supervision will be available for families who need it.
Clermont's early release Mondays are scheduled for: September 16, October 21, November 18, February 10, March 10, April 21, and May 12.
To help plan for our school’s childcare needs during the early release Mondays, please complete this form for each of your children who are enrolled at Clermont Elementary by Friday, August 16, 2024. The form covers the first two early release Mondays, scheduled for September 16, 2024 and October 21, 2024. If you have multiple children, you will need to submit multiple forms. Staff will confirm the after school supervision plan for each student.

You may have already heard that elementary school teachers across the county have been learning about a new Language Arts Curriculum this summer. FCPS has continued to improve its approach to reading over the last several years through our Equitable Access to Literacy (EAL) plan, and we are looking forward to using the new materials at Clermont this year to help achieve our division goal of having all students reading on grade level by third grade. Reading by third grade is one of the measures of Goal 3: Academic Growth and Excellence in our 2023-30 Strategic Plan.
By focusing on foundational skills for our young readers and literacy intervention for upper grades, FCPS has made significant progress toward narrowing the achievement gaps in this critical skill. The first day of school is Monday, August 19, 2024. Doors open at 8:50 am, and school starts promply at 9:05 am. Dismissal is at 3:50 pm.
Back to School Night will take place on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

There are two sessions to accommodate parents with multiple children. Teachers will email additional details closer to the date of the event.
