My name is Ashley Vaccaro and I am thrilled to be joining the Timber Lane Elementary School community to support the administrative team for the 2024-2025 academic year! Most recently, I was the assistant principal of the British International School of Istanbul, where I have been since 2021. I have 12 years of instructional experience as a Title-I elementary grade 3 and 5 teacher, ESOL teacher, and international grade 1 classroom teacher prior to administration. I am dedicated to promoting equitable and inclusive learning spaces for all children.
I enjoy learning from colleagues while working collaboratively to support student growth and achievement. I value open communication and partnering with families to promote the best possible outcomes for children-academically, socially, and emotionally. It's important to me that our students understand they are valued members of our community, and that school is a place where they can take positive risks, express themselves, try new things, learn from mistakes, and have fun!
A native of Boston, Massachusetts, I hold my bachelor of arts in sociology and early childhood education, and masters in teaching from Simmons University. I also hold a doctorate degree in education from Northeastern University.
When I’m not at school, you can find me with my husband and our 3 children, ages 9, 8, and 7. We enjoy spending lots of time outdoors riding scooters and swimming, playing at the park, building lego, and walking our 2 big friendly dogs.
