🧸 Kindergarten Registration:
It’s as Easy as 1-2-3…
There’s an easy five-step process for parents wanting to register their child for kindergarten:
- Determine eligibility.
- Identify your local school.
- Gather documents.
- Fill out forms.
- Schedule an appointment.
After the appointment at the school (the student and one caregiver must be present), the student will be ready for orientation, Bridge to Kindergarten, or any other introductory events each school may host. Read more about the registration process.
💻 Try Online Registration
Parents may register their children online for kindergarten through 12th grade. Learn how to begin the online registration process.
When registering, parents will create (or log in to an existing) SIS ParentVUE account. Please note that passwords should be more than 12 characters long. If you have an existing account and your password is shorter, please update it when you log in.
Open House
This year’s Open House is scheduled for Thursday, August 15th from 1:00-3:00 pm. Please visit us at school to meet your child’s teacher, see the classroom, meet our specialists, as well as other staff members of the Bailey’s ES community. This is also a great time for you to drop off your child’s school supplies in the classroom. We look forward to seeing everyone on the 15th!
Class Placements
We will send class placements to families via email on August 14th. Please make sure we have your email address so you can review our class placement letter. Parents will also be able to see their child’s teacher assignment in SIS on the 14th. If you don’t have an email address or cannot access ParentVue, our staff will be prepared to share this information with you during our Open House on August 15th.
Early Release Mondays
Providing an excellent education to all students and meeting individual student needs requires appropriate planning time for teachers. This means teachers need a dedicated block of time to prepare lessons, participate in professional development and training, and collaborate with peers.
With that in mind, FCPS has developed a divisionwide plan for seven three-hour early release days (Mondays) for elementary students in the 2024-25 school year. Different elementary schools have different Early Release Monday dates.
Bailey’s ES will have seven 3-hour early release days on the dates listed below. Dismissal on these dates will begin at 12:45 p.m
- September 16
- October 21
- November 18
- February 10
- March 10
- April 21
- May 12
