Hello Forest Edge Families and Community!
The first day of school is just around the corner. The Forest Edge staff will go on Welcome Walks on August 15th to greet the students and help them get excited for the 2024-2025 school year! During this time, staff members will visit students at home and deliver some back-to-school goodies.
The following day, August 16, will be our Open House. Open house will be another opportunity to meet your child's teacher, drop off school supplies, and visit the building. Through our community partnership with Trinity Church in Reston, we will be able to provide over 200 backpacks filled with supplies for students! Families will be able to pick up the backpacks during Open House. We'd like to extend a huge thank you to our partners at Trinity for supporting our students in gearing up for the school year!

We wanted to provide a reminder and follow up to the FCPS communication that was sent in June regarding seven three-hour early release Mondays for elementary students in the 24-25 year.
Forest Edge ES will dismiss at 12:35 pm on the dates below.

- October 28
- November 25
- February 24
- March 17
- April 28
- May 19
This time will be utilized for teacher planning time to support students, complete required professional development for the new Virginia Literacy Act, new reading and math standards, and other initiatives.
