Dear Sleepy Hollow Families,
We hope you are having a wonderful summer break! It is hard to believe we are less than a month away from the start of the school year!
The first day of the 2024-25 school year is Monday, August 19. We have a lot of exciting events coming up at the beginning of the year, so please check the information below.
Classroom teacher assignments will be available in ParentVue sometime during the week of August 12. We will also have a list of classrooms ready for you when you arrive for Open House on Friday, August 16.
We will continue to keep you updated with information as we get closer to the first day of school. We are eager to welcome our students and families back to Sleepy Hollow in a few short weeks. Enjoy the last weeks of summer, and we look forward to seeing you all soon!

Limited Early Release Mondays for
Elementary Schools
FCPS has developed a division wide plan for seven three-hour early release days (Mondays) for elementary students in the 2024-25 school year. This time will be utilized for teacher planning time to support students, complete required professional development for the new Virginia Literacy Act, new reading and math standard and other initiatives. Additional information can be found on the FCPS Early Release Mondays webpage. If you have immediate questions, please email ESPlanning@fcps.edu

Great news! Students will still have access to our digital reading resources, as well as community resources available through the library. Take a look at the list below to book your summer:

The Fairfax County Public Library has tons of print, audio, and Ebook options. Go to the website on your computer or download the Libby by Overdrive app on your tablet or phone.

MyOn has many books at a variety of levels, including many chapter books.

Options for Families
ST Math

In addition to the information listed below, it is recommended that students who are moving from a standard level math class to an honors level math class have their ST Math journey reassigned to the next grade level.
