Principal's Note
Early Release Mondays
In June, FCPS announced that seven Mondays over the 2024-25 school year will be designated as early release days. These days are intended to provide additional time for teachers to plan, collaborate, and receive professional development to support students.
Cameron ES will follow the Edison Pyramid schedule for early release days. Dismissal on these days will be at 1:05pm.

• February 10
• March 10
• April 21
• May 12
We recommend saving this version of the FCPS calendar that includes our early release days!
Here are just some of the benefits and opportunities the early release days will provide our Cameron ES staff:
- All Cameron ES teachers will have additional time for learning and planning.
• New Cameron ES teachers will have additional time to plan with mentors and learn from colleagues.
• Central office support/coaches and trainers will be available to provide professional development and support to Cameron ES teachers.
• Cameron administration will have time to plan professional development and work collaboratively with our instructional leadership teams to monitor our school improvement innovation plan.
• Cameron school teams will have time to visit and learn from other schools, since different schools will have different early release days

 Order school supplies that match with the grade level supply list from Campus Survival Kits by July 31!
☀️Kindergarten Playdate
On August 7 from 12-1pm, incoming Cameron ES kindergarteners are invited to join us for a chance to play and meet new classmates. Popsicles and water will be provided. See you at the Cameron playground!
Kindergarten Summer Assessments
 Our kindergarten teachers will be hosting two dates and times for assessments. Assessments with be completed in the library and will take about 15 minutes. Sign up for a time!

Community Visits! Meet the Staff
 On Monday, August 12 between 2:15 and 3:20pm, Cameron staff will be visiting Cityside Apartments, Riverside Apartments, and the Huntington Community Center for a meet and greet with families. Come to say hello and get a popsicle! A more detailed schedule will be provided in the coming weeks.
Open House Aug 16
Join us on August 16 from 3-4pm for Cameron's Open House! Students and families will have a chance to meet their teacher, see their classroom, and connect with classmates. We hope you join us!

Back to School Picnic Aug 16
Stick around after Open House for the PTA-hosted Back to School Picnic! The picnic will take place from 4-6pm. More details to come!
