Dear KJMS Families,
We are excited for the start of the 2024-25 school year! Many of you know I officially started the job as KJMS principal on July 1st and you can read more about my background here. Our administrative team has been busy planning for the return of our staff and students. We are providing a number of opportunities for our new and returning families to visit the school and engage with school staff. Please read the information below to help support you and your child in returning. Feel free to call the main office if you have any questions at 703-934-2400.

KJMS Summer office hours are as follows:
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Monday - Thursday.
Please reach out to the main office at (703) 934-2400 (press "0") to schedule appointments outside these office hours. Registrations are by appointment only.

We will be holding a couple opportunities for your family to grab an ice cream (there will be dairy-free and nut-free options available), meet our administrative team, tour the building and get help with KJMS communication tools before the school year starts! This is an open house format where you can drop by for as little or as long as you would like. You do not have to arrive right as it begins as there will not be an agenda. If childcare is a concern, feel free to bring siblings along. Enter through Door 1 and a member of the KJMS staff will guide you on a tour.

The Back to School Q & A is a time for families to ask questions about the start of school. School administrators will be available to answer questions. A Google Meet link will be sent the day of the event.

Sessions will be recorded and a link will be sent to all families.

We are excited for the start of the school year at Katherine Johnson Middle School (KJMS)! We are inviting your family to this year's EagleFest which will take place on Thursday, August 15th.
EagleFest is a chance for students and families to:
- Walk the building with your schedule - see your classrooms and take some time to figure out how to navigate the building on day 1!
- Meet other KJMS families or catch up with old friends! This year's EagleFest will have food trucks in the front of the building.
- Celebrate the end of Summer and the start of a great School Year at KJMS!
