 Happy Summer Break! I hope everyone is enjoying the time away from school. Thank you to all our parents that volunteered in June at Field Day, Class Parties, Sixth Grade Day, or joined us for the end of year festivities!
If your family is moving, changing schools, or new to Lemon Road, please be sure to let our office staff know right away (LemonRoadOffice@fcps.edu). At this time, Lemon Road is staffed, but we are monitoring enrollment to ensure we are ready for the 1st Day of School!
 Lions can stay connected and engaged with the Lemon Road Summer Activity Board. Students can complete and mark off as many activities as they can and return the board to their classroom teacher by Monday, August 26, 2024. Paper copies of the board were in one of the last Wednesday folders of the year. Extra copies are available on the Lemon Road website (lemonroades.fcps.edu) to download and/or print. All participants will be entered into grade-level drawings and be recognized on the morning news. We hope all lions participate!
 In addition to the activity board, we love seeing our families throughout the summer! The Lemon Road Book Mobile will be driving through our neighborhood on the afternoons of July 9 and August 1. See below for this week's stops! LRES Staff come with books to give away & popsicles!

We are also hosting Rising Kindergarten & New Family Playdates on our playground. Stop by to meet new friends, introduce yourself to the PTA, and enjoy a cool treat in the heat.

Finally, on Monday, July 15 from 1:30 - 3:30, Ms. Burke is opening up the library for a summer check-out date. Come by to browse books and play some games in the library as a family.
Each Lemon Road student will need a backpack, lunchbox (if bringing lunch from home), a refillable water bottle, and grade-specific school supplies. Families may purchase school supplies on their own or order from our local vendor as a courtesy from our PTA.

 As another school year comes to a close, the Lemon Road Elementary PTA extends its warmest THANK YOU to this amazing community of teachers, staff, parents, caregivers, administrators, and students. If you joined us this year at an event or volunteering in any capacity - a big thank you!
Each year the Lemon Road PTA Board are honored to select one winner of the Carolyn Miller Spirit of Generosity Award to celebrate the contributions made by Dr. Miller during her time as Principal of LRES and the culture of inclusivity and positivity she fostered. Thank you to everyone who nominated a staff member. Every nominee was a worthy winner, making it hard to choose, but Gabby Burke, School Librarian, was the winner for 2023-2024!
