Summer Registrations / Withdrawals

-
Moving? Please Let Us Know! Please notify our Student Services office if your student(s) will not be returning to West Potomac for the 24-25 school year. If your student needs to unenroll from WPHS for next school year, please contact Leslie Dorsey at ladorsey@fcps.edu Registrar and submit the Intention for Next School Year
Food and Nutrition Services – Transfers and Refunds
- We encourage families to log-in to MySchoolBucks and check their student's meal account balance. Please pay any outstanding balances if you have any. If you are interested in transferring funds between your students' accounts, or if you would like to request a transfer, please visit this site. Unfortunately, West Potomac HS is not able to process these requests locally. Once you are on the site, scroll down to the heading "Transfer and Refund Requests."
Required Immunizations for Rising 12th Graders
- Immunizations are required for all students entering the 12th grade this fall. Visit the FCPS immunization webpage to learn about the required vaccines. Caregivers should ask their private healthcare provider or the health department to review their student's immunization record to ensure that their student has received these required immunizations.
- It is important to schedule immunizations early in the summer. Twelfth grade students must submit documentation of the Meningococcal vaccine. Beginning Monday, WPHS will be emailing Rising 12th grader families who have not turned in this immunization documentation weekly.
- All immunization updates can be emailed to Leslie Dorsey (ladorsey@fcps.edu) or dropped off at the building during the summer office hours.
Get more information on all student immunization requirements.
2024-25 Student Parking Information
- Parking Pass Applications will open for the 2024 - 25 school year beginning July 15 (on our website) All information is on the West Potomac website.
College Board Testing/Accommodations
- West Potomac will be administering the PSAT/NMSQT to 10th and 11th graders and the SAT to 12th graders (who sign up in August) on October 9, 2024. The Accommodations Process for College Board Testing webpage provides instructions on how to request College Board testing accommodations, including the required input and consent forms (Enclosures 2-3). To request new or amended College Board accommodations for the October PSAT/NMSQT or SAT, return the input and consent forms to Ms. Candace Brown (crbrown@fcps.edu) by August 5, 2024. Please note that the Ms. Brown, WPHS point of contact for requesting accommodations, is NOT on contract during the summer months so please be patient if you do not receive an immediate response. If you drop forms off at the school building please be sure to email Ms. Brown and inform her that the information was left at school.
Virtual Mental Wellness Consultations
- This summer, the FCPS Office of Intervention and Prevention Services will offer virtual Mental Wellness Consultations from Monday, June 24, through Friday, August 2. Any FCPS parent or secondary student can schedule a 45-minute consultation with a school psychologist or social worker by phone or videoconference.
- Parents of students in any grade level can request a consultation to receive guidance on how to support their child’s social, emotional, and academic success. Information about community resources will also be provided.
- Middle or high school students can request a consultation to receive guidance and support for concerns related to anxiety, mood, behavior, peer or family interactions, or school transitions and changes. Strategies and tools can also be provided to address academic challenges such as organization and time management.
- We encourage all families to take advantage of this service. Request a consultation or call and leave a message at 703-503-2520.
