Who: Parent and Students
What: Open House- a time to tour the building, see your classroom, bring your school supplies, meet the teachers and help everyone prepare for a fabulous first day of school.
When: Friday, August 16

9:00-9:45am: Grades 1-6, Last Names Starting with A-K

10:15-10:45am: Kindergarten Students

11:00-11:45am: Grades 1-6, Last Names Starting with L-Z
Where: Everyone will enter through the Main Entrance (Door 1) and exit from the cafeteria (Door 6) to assist with traffic flow.
Why are the times split? Parking is very limited here at Floris. We ask that you please stay within these times so all families are able to find parking.
Important Information about the 2024-2025 School Year

Floris Bell Schedule: 9:15am-4:00pm Monday-Friday

Breakfast and lunch are available each day and the menu will be available at FCPS Nutrislice- Floris

Families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced price meals for SY 24-25. Learn more about the Free and Reduced-Price Meal program online.
- The transportation office is working on bus routes for the upcoming school year. You can expect to receive the bus number, bus stop location, and approximate times for pick-up and drop-off in August right before the start of school.

Dining Assistant Needed
Floris is looking for a member of our community to become a part of our team as a Dining Room Assistant. This is an hourly position from 10:45 am to 2:15 pm whenever students are in attendance.
Description: Assists students during lunch time. Supervises student clean-up, keeps order, and dismisses students to their teachers.
Our Dining Room Assistant works with a variety of staff members and interacts with all of our students within the lunch periods.
Qualifications: Friendly, energetic, and assertive in maintaining expectations of cafeteria behavior, and loves working with children.
This position helps ensure that lunchtime is a positive experience for our students and is instrumental to the operational flow of our school day. It is also a great way for a member of our Floris community to give back to the school on a part-time, day to day basis. October 28: 3-hour early release
October 31: End of First Quarter and Two-Hour Early Release
November 4-5: No School for Students, School Planning Day and Teacher Workday
