Dear Mantua families,
Our final weeks of school were filled with celebrations! We could not have asked for more perfect weather to host the Mantua Annual Field Days! Smiles radiated on students’ faces as they cheered on and encouraged one another. The cheering continued as we welcomed graduating seniors to walk the hallways of Mantua one more time. What an inspiration to our Mantua community! We celebrated our 6th-grade students at their promotion ceremony and the Mantua PTA’s marvelous Promotion Party for our graduating class of 2030! We’re thrilled to share photos of our adventurous week.
With care and appreciation, we say farewell to staff members who are retiring or are moving on to new adventures. We are deeply grateful for their service at Mantua and wish them all the best!
- Paul Anomaly (5th Grade AAP Teacher) is retiring.
- Jamie DeRosa (4th Grade Teacher) is moving on to the private sector.

Engaging with, challenging, and supporting our students this year has been a joy and a privilege. We've witnessed their remarkable development of leadership skills and their embrace of character traits emphasized in the Positivity Project, which will serve them well beyond the school environment. Events like Heritage Night have been special, fostering an appreciation for our diverse community and its strengths.
We celebrate our students' achievements in academics, music, and the arts, recognizing these as foundational to their ongoing education. Each accomplishment underscores their dedication and talents, of which we are immensely proud.
As summer approaches, we wish everyone a restful break and eagerly anticipate welcoming back those familiar smiling faces in the fall!
Take good care,
Linda Shannon, Principal

It’s Kindergarten Registration Time!
Attending kindergarten provides children with an opportunity to learn and practice the essential social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives. Eligible children can also be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps us plan so that we have the teachers and resources needed on the first day of school.
Prepare for registration by gathering documents and completing forms. We are happy to support families with registration and the transition to kindergarten. Mergie Kakouris is our Mantua contact for all school registrations, and she can be reached at MBKakouris@fcps.edu. She is happy to answer any questions you may have. For more information in other languages, visit FCPS’ Kindergarten Registration webpage.
