Lane Lion Grads Walk the Hall Once More

On Tuesday, members of the Class of 2024 from several different high schools returned to their elementary school where it all began and paraded proudly through the halls of Lane. Many stopped by to visit favorite teachers, including Strings teacher, Mrs. Hicks.

Congratulations to Our 6th Grade Lions!

Our 6th graders celebrated their "graduation" from elementary school at a special Promotion Ceremony on Wednesday. We wish all of our 6th grade Lane Lions great success in middle school! Here are just a few pictures from that special event.

Eid al-Adha artowrk

Eid al-Adha, the “Feast of Sacrifice” observed on Monday, June 17th

Eid al-Adha, or the “Feast of Sacrifice,” is the second of two main holidays celebrated in Islam.

Eid al-Adha signifies the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim, known as Abraham in Christianity and Judaism, to sacrifice his son, Ismail, as ordered by Allah. It focuses on sacrifice, the pilgrimage to Mecca, and giving to those less fortunate. Learn more in this video from PBS Kids. “Eid Mubarak” to all who observe!

Juneteenth – Wednesday, June 19th

Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 that word of the Emancipation Proclamation and the end of the Civil War finally reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, effectively marking the end of slavery in the United States. Learn more about Juneteenth.
