A Message from the Admin Team

60th Anniversary Admin Team Photo

Dear Little Run Family,

The final bell rang and summer vacation has begun! We want to take a moment to reflect on a truly incredible school year. We are filled with immense pride for the amazing accomplishments of our students and staff.

Our students have grown tremendously this year, both academically and personally. Their dedication, curiosity, and perseverance have been inspiring to witness. We've had opportunities this year to celebrate their achievements in the classroom, on the field, and on the stage. They have not only learned, but also fostered a vibrant school community filled with creativity, kindness, and teamwork.

This success wouldn't be possible without the unwavering dedication of our incredible staff. From our teachers to office staff, our specialists, custodians, and cafeteria workers, each member of the Little Run team worked tirelessly to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for our students. Their passion for education and commitment to our school community are truly remarkable.

We are also incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of our families and PTA. Your involvement in school activities, volunteering efforts, and open communication are essential to creating the positive learning environment we strive for at Little Run. Thank you for sharing your children with us and for being such a vital part of our school community.

While we say goodbye to the 23-24 school year, we are excited to continue serving you and our students throughout the summer. Stay tuned for future communications regarding upcoming summer events and opportunities for engagement. Here at Little Run, we are dedicated to the ongoing success of our students and committed to bettering our school each an every day.

We wish you and your families a safe, relaxing, and joy-filled summer!

With warmest regards,

Christie Yarn, Principal

Resources for Newly Registered Families

Being connected to your school community helps you stay informed and support your child’s success. Take some time to get familiar with the many resources and tools available to FCPS families, including:

  • School Age Child Care (SACC) – This Fairfax County government program provides a safe and fun environment before and after school for elementary school-age children.
  • FCPS Communications for Families – FCPS shares news and information to support student learning and promote family involvement.
  • Family Engagement Resources – FCPS works to connect, strengthen, and support our families, schools, and communities.
  • Do You Know About Family Liaisons? – Family liaisons serve as a link between families and schools. You may contact Maria Ruiz, our family liaison, at miruiz@fcps.edu or 703-503-3500.

There’s an easy to follow five-step process outlined for parents registering their children for kindergarten. Be sure to register your child as soon as possible!

Register Your Children Online
