Highlights of our year include the following:

- We reorganized our History section according to classes taught at Woodson. Teachers and Students were able to find books related to their classes and projects. This same format will be expanded to our science sections.
- Our top student user checked out 256. Who says students don’t read at Woodson?
Thank you for helping us keep the Woodson families informed about the library. We appreciate your support.

Boys Tennis:
The Woodson boys tennis season wrapped up last Thursday with Ryan Battaglia and Marek Raynal-Kosecka competing in the doubles State Semifinal. They fell to a formidable duo from Deep Run, who went on to win in the final. Their loss doesn’t dim the light on the team’s undefeated regular season, District, and Region Championship team titles! Ryan and Marek also won the doubles region title.
Congrats to the Class of 2024! They are Woodson’s all-time winningest boys team with a combined record of 64-5 (51-0 in Patriot District play.) They amassed four district titles, three region titles, one region runner up, and four state tournament appearances. Wishing them all continued success in their future endeavors!
2024 District and Region team champs!
Varsity Softball:
The Varsity Softball Team would like to thank all their fans, parents, teachers, and the athletic staff for supporting them during their season. Unfortunately it has come to an end. Emma Fleming and Claire Warden will continue their softball journey next year at Catholic University (Emma: 2nd base) and Brandeis University (Claire: Pitcher).
Monday, the team defeated Annandale High School 11-0. Sedona Adams collected four hits at bat. Claire Warden struck out 11 batters on the day. Woodson added to their early lead when Emma Fleming doubled and Delaney Fleming singled, scoring two runs.
Friday the team traveled to Edison High school and lost 8-0. Kelby Lennen, Sedona Adams and Sam Kliein each collected one hit for Woodson. Claire Warden took the loss for the Cavaliers. The starting pitcher went six innings striking out 10 batters.

Attendance
Attendance is still critical to student success in the classroom.
If your student will be absent from school during the last week of school, a parent/guardian must notify the attendance office.
To report attendance
-
All day – call 703-503-4800 option 1
-
Late arrival – call 703-503-4800 option 2
-
Early check out- send a note in with the student in the morning and have them take it directly to Attendance Office – 703-503-4800 option 3.
- phone calls for early check out are reserved for emergencies or last-minute appointments. Please understand it may take up to 30 minutes to retrieve students for early release phone calls. We cannot accommodate calls for release that are received after 2:30.
- Sick students (or feeling unwell) must check out through the clinic. Parents must come into the main office and the main office will call to release the student from the clinic.
- Sick students may not be checked out through the attendance office.
Parents/guardians must contact the attendance office (703-503-4800) to report attendance; emails and online forms will no longer be accepted to notify our school of your student’s absence. Woodson is not monitoring or accepting any absences submitted via email. Due to an excessive number of forgeries, the online attendance form is currently disabled.
