Welcome Brendan Shapiro

New Director of Student Activities

Dear Chantilly Community,

We are excited to announce that Mr. Brendan Shapiro has been named the new Director of Student Activities for Chantilly High School effective August 1, 2024.

A proud graduate of FCPS (Langley High School, ’94), Mr. Shapiro has worked for nine years in Fairfax County Public Schools as a teacher, coach, sponsor, and Assistant Director of Student Activities (ADSA). Brendan most recently served as the ADSA at Fairfax HS where he oversaw clubs, graduation, athlete eligibility, and directed multiple tournaments including district and region championships, while also supervising the Student Government Association and teaching leadership courses. A career switcher who founded Potomac River Running and PR Training programs, and taught Health at PE at Chantilly feeder, Franklin Middle School, Mr. Shapiro is well suited to join the Charger community as the DSA.

Mr. Shapiro highly values strong relationships and collaboration with all stakeholders to create a shared vision for student activities. His leadership is founded in the belief that activities provide every student a place to have fun, grow, and most importantly, belong in a school community. Mr. Shapiro is enthusiastic about joining the Charger community and connecting with our students, families, staff, and coaches. We look forward to welcoming Brendan Shapiro to the Chantilly team this summer.  Congratulations!
