Principal Dowling's Message

Dear Bailey's Upper Families,

As we approach the end of another amazing year, we want to reflect on the journey that we shared.  It has been a year marked by transitions, growth, and the strong support of our community. On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your dedication and commitment to the success of our students.

This year has presented a few transitions, three principals to be exact! We continue to wish Ms. Lemmon well and thank her for all that she has done for the school community over the last decade. Her leadership continues to shine throughout the building and in the success of our students this year. We are also thankful to Ms. Iyer who stepped in for a few months to keep the school moving in the right direction. Despite all of the changes our students and teachers continued to rise to the occasion, embracing change and showing dedication to our success as a school.

None of this would have been possible without the tireless efforts of our incredible teachers and instructional staff. Their passion, dedication, and commitment to our students is the driving force behind our success. They have gone above and beyond to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment where students feel valued and empowered every day. To our amazing teachers and instructional staff, we extend our deepest thanks and appreciation for all that you do.

As we look forward to a well-deserved summer break, I want to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a wonderful summer. We can not wait for the adventures that will be waiting for you in August.

Best of luck to our rising 6th graders and your families. Celebrating you this week was a highlight. You will be missed but once a BUpper Tiger, always a BUpper Tiger. Be sure to come back and visit us!!

Thank you once again for your continued support and partnership. It is truly a privilege to be part of such an extraordinary community, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve as your principals. Here's to a bright and promising future for all of us at Bailey's Upper.

Warmest regards,

Holly Dowling

Bailey’s Upper Assessment Information

End-of-Year Academic Screener Score Reporting for Families

Family score reports for most spring assessments will be centrally distributed to families through SIS ParentVUE, with central mailing ongoing for VKRP assessments. Schools continue to have responsibility to distribute SIS-posted reports to families without ParentVUE accounts. A FCPS This Week notice on 5/22 alerted families of the expected delivery timeline.

  • iReady Grade 1-3 - expected in PVUE the week of 6/3 (non-PVUE delivery by the end of this year)
  • iReady Grade 4-6 - expected in PVUE the week of 6/24 (non-PVUE delivery before the start of next school year)

If you have any questions regarding any assessment, please contact Nicole Cassidy and Denise Cash-Pinckney our School Testing Coordinators at 703-503-2700
