Field Day

There is great excitement as we enter the final three days of the school year.  Field Day was so much fun Friday, thanks to Mr. Van Trees, Mr. Hickman, our volunteers, and staff!

Speaking of our staff - this is your last chance to complete an FCPS Cares submission for this school year! We'd love to hear your feedback on a staff member who has made a different in your family's life. We invite you to submit your story.

On Monday, I had the pleasure of attending Marshall High School’s graduation ceremony. It was a beautiful event, and I loved seeing all the former Lemon Road students walk across the stage.

Lemon Road summer office hours will be Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. If you need anything, please call the office at 703-714-6400. Our building will be used for SOAR, Bridge to Kindergarten, and Young Scholars summer classes for Lemon Road, Shrevewood, and Westgate Elementary Schools.

Wednesday is the last day of school, and all FCPS schools dismiss early. Lemon Road will dismiss at 12:55 PM, and our front office will be closed from 1:30 - 3:00 so that all staff can attend our year-end celebration.

Enjoy the last three days lions!

Parent Reminders:

  • Look around your house for any LRES library books to return ASAP.  Watch this quick video: “How-To Check Your Library Account.”  If you believe a book has already been returned or are unable to locate a book, please contact Ms. Burke: goburke@fcps.edu
  • All items left in the Lost & Found after the last day of school will be donated.  Please stop by before June 12 to collect any remaining items.
  • Parents of rising 4th - 6th graders, please open this link to watch the videos of instrument choices with your child.  All rising 4th - 6th graders must identify their preference (band, strings, or general music) by June 10, 2024 for class placement in the fall.
  • If your family is relocating or changing schools over the summer, please be sure to email Dana Vaughn to ensure we can send any records to the correct school and your updated address to send final communication and test scores.
  • Parents of 6th graders, pre-register here to join us for our Grade 6 Promotion Ceremony on Wednesday at 8:30 AM.  Parents may enter beginning at 8:05 on Wednesday.
