Principal’s Message

Greetings Tiger Families!

Last night at Twain we held our annual talent show and some of our students and staff showed off their unique and wonderful talents that make them who they are as individuals, and who we are as Twain Tigers. Throughout the school year, not just on this single evening, the talents of our students and staff have been on display – in the classroom, on the stage, on the field, and in the community. This past week we paused to celebrate the great success our students had in the classroom. Some key measurements based on our current data that we are proud to share include:

  • Chronic Absenteeism rate decreased by 7%
  • Reading Standards of Learning (SOL) Exam pass rate increased by 2%
  • Math SOL Exam pass rate increased by 4%
  • Science SOL Exam pass rate increased by 6%
  • Some demographic subgroups improved their SOL exam pass rate by up to 14%

This growth is exciting, and we are committed to continuing this progress into the 2024-25 school year and beyond and look forward to doing so in partnership with our generous and dedicated families.

Have a wonderful weekend, Tigers.

Sincerely,

Matt

Required Immunizations for Rising 7th and 12th Graders

Immunizations are required for all students entering 7th and 12th grades this fall. Visit FCPS’ Immunization webpage to learn about the required vaccines.

Parents/caregivers should ask their private healthcare provider or the health department to review their student's immunization record to ensure their student has received these required immunizations.

It is important to schedule immunizations early in the summer, as seventh grade students must submit documentation of the Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines before they begin school in August. Students in the 12th grade must submit documentation of the Meningococcal vaccine.

Get more information on all student immunization requirements.
