Principals' Message

Admin Team

Dear Brookfield Families,

It’s hard to believe that the school year has come to an end, and what a tremendous year we have had!  The growth our Broncos have made physically, emotionally, and academically is incredible! We couldn’t be prouder of our students and staff for their tremendous work, efforts, and enthusiasm.

We are always sad to say farewell to our students, and will particularly miss our sixth graders who will be moving on to middle school in the fall.  We wish them the best and look forward to hearing about the amazing things they continue to do individually and collectively.

As we kick off summer, we want to thank you for sharing your amazing children with us! We have enjoyed teaching and learning with them and hope they will keep reading over the next several weeks!

We hope you have a wonderful summer and look forward to welcoming you back in the fall!

Stay well,

Ellen Mukai

Brookfield’s Renovation Starting Soon!

BKES
dot

We’re so grateful that voters approved the bond referendums for the FCPS Capital Improvement Projects and Brookfield’s renovation! We’ve been anticipating the start of construction, and we won’t have to wait much longer! This summer you’ll begin to see some changes. Here’s what we are expecting:

  • Six quads (temporary classrooms) will be arriving this summer and will be placed in the softball field.
  • The trailers behind the school used for band, strings, Spanish, and ESOL will be removed.
  • When students return to school in the fall, some grade levels and staff members will be in new places inside the school.
  • Students in grades 3-6 will move into the quads after Winter Break in January 2025.
  • As the work gets underway, we will share regular updates and hold community meetings to update families.

This website contains the plans for Brookfield’s renovation and is updated when new information is available.

If you have questions, suggestions, or concerns, please reach out to Principal Mukai at ehmukai@fcps.edu.
