What's Happening at Mount Eagle June 7, 2024

Yesterday we welcomed former Mount Eagle students who just graduated from Edison High School. We celebrated their accomplishments, learned about their plans and heard some words of advice from them. (Those are pictures of them when they were students here!)

Finishing Strong!

Instruction is continuing at high levels through next week. Students are reflecting on all the learning they've done, and teachers have been meeting to celebrate all the growth we're seeing in our end of year assessments. While all testing results have not been finalized, we have seen excellent growth in our students. Please check the article below about how to access assessment results.

On Tuesday, we will celebrate our Grade 6 students at their Promotion Ceremony beginning at 10am. It's a bittersweet moment as we recognize their many accomplishments and send them off to middle school. Then on Wednesday, we will have our final All School Meeting for the year.

The PTO will meet in the library at 8:40am. Stop by to celebrate a great year and make plans for how to make next year even better!

Dismissal will be at 1:30pm. Thank you for being partners with us in your child's education. It has been an honor to work with you.

Medication Pick-up

If your child has medication at school, it must be picked up in person by the last day of school, Wednesday, June 12. Medication must be picked up by the parent/guardian. Please connect with Ms. Townes, our school health aide, with any questions at 703.721.2110.

Test Results for Parents

Our students have taken a variety of assessments this month. Family score reports for most spring assessments will be centrally distributed to families through SIS ParentVUE, with central mailing ongoing for VKRP assessments. As a school, we  have the responsibility to mail out those results to families without ParentVUE accounts. Please see the timeline for when these assessment results will be delivered.

  • iReady Grade 1-3 - expected in ParentVUE the week of 6/3 (non-ParentVUE delivery by the end of this year)
  • iReady Grade 4-6 - expected in ParentVUE the week of 6/24 (non-ParentVUE delivery before the start of next school year)
  • VKRP Grade PreK-K - expected central delivery via U.S. Mail the week of 7/8
