Dear Hayfield Community,
As I prepare for this exciting and new chapter in my life, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank a community that has been incredibly supportive of me over the 12 years I have worked at Hayfield. Your kindness, generosity, and your willingness to work together has been what made my job such a pleasure. To the Hayfield PTA, you are simply the best. The events you put together year after year make Hayfield the community that it is. Thank you all for the love and support. I will miss you all but most especially the children. This isn’t goodbye….it’s “See you at Wegman’s!” 😍

Hello, Hayfield. After 31 years in FCPS (16 at Hayfield) it is time for me to say goodbye. I will be retiring at the end of the year. I just wanted to take a moment to thank all the staff, parents, and students from all those years. Teaching PE, Health and being a Safety Patrol Sponsor has allowed me to interact with many students over the years. I will definitely miss that next year. I am thankful that I was able to teach PE for so many years. I take those memories with me as I move into retirement. All is not lost though, as I plan to do a bit of subbing in PE next year. Maybe I will still see some of the students of Hayfield. Thank you, Hawks. |
We can’t believe another amazing school year is coming to a close! To celebrate, students can participate in the following spirit days for our Summer Spirit Week!
Monday, June 10 – Olympic Day – Wear colors from your favorite country
Tuesday, June 11 – Made in the Shade Day – Wear sunglasses or a hat
Wednesday, June 12 – HES Spirit Day – Wear anything HES or HES colors
FCPS has mandated that all FCPS student laptops and chargers be returned so that they can be serviced and updated for redistribution for the 2024-2025 school year. On Wednesday, June 12, the last day of school, each classroom will return all technology equipment. Students who do not turn in their equipment will be charged $472 for a laptop/iPad.
The only exceptions are for students enrolled in a summer school program/ESY who need their laptop/iPad to participate. If your child is identified for this, his/her laptop/iPad and charger will be sent home on the last day of school. Please direct any questions you have about the laptop return process to your child’s classroom teacher, including inquiries about financial replacement for missing laptops or chargers.

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the
health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of
school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy
that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home
with your student. |

Caribbean individuals are some of the most ethnically diverse in the world. There are more than 8.5 million individuals in the United States born in the Caribbean or of Caribbean ancestry. In the month of June, we recognize the resilience and determination of the many individuals who are fighting to live freely and authentically. We stand with those facing an ongoing struggle against discrimination and injustice. This Pride Month, we affirm our obligation to uphold the dignity of all people. Each individual in our school community should feel valued for who they are. Learn more about the heritage months, celebrations, and traditions celebrated in FCPS.

2024 MWR Library Summer Reading Program - DoD Worldwide
During the summer months, Army & DOD MWR libraries around the world will host a range of free activities for children, teens, & adults that encourage and support a love of reading.
Participants can track their progress and earn prizes while meeting their reading and activity goals.

Our Summer Reading Adventure is for YOUTH and ADULTS and participating is super easy!
- Beginning June 5, go to fairfaxcounty.beanstack.org and register for the Summer Reading Adventure appropriate for you or your children.
- Depending on your age, earn ten or fifteen virtual badges by reading or listening to books, reading for 20 or 30 minutes, completing activities or a combination of all three.
- Once you have met the reading goals for your age/grade, visit your local library branch and receive prizes for finishing the program!
