Dear Haycock Families,

Please see information below about end of year assessment results and progress reports and when those will be available in SIS ParentVUE.

Over the summer, we will send out periodic Haycock Hellos when there is important information to share, but they will not come out weekly.

Thank you for sharing your students with us this year.  We learned and grew in leaps and bounds together.  We look forward to seeing everyone again in August.

We wish you and your family a safe and fun summer. 🏖️

With appreciation for your partnership,

Liz Beaty, Principal embeaty@fcps.edu

Band/Strings Registration for Rising 4th, 5th, and 6th Graders

To help us plan next year’s instrumental music instruction, we are asking that all rising 4-6 grade students select their instrument choice before the end of this school year.  Strings is offered to students in 4th, 5th and 6th grade.  Band is offered to students in 5th and 6th grade. No previous experience is required to participate.  Band and strings lessons will be once a week for 60 minutes during specials block.  Students were able to hear the instrument options during our Band and Strings concerts a few weeks ago. Please talk with your child about what instrument, if any, they would like to play next year.

When you have made your choice, please fill out the linked google form before the end of the year: https://forms.gle/arqRko7BmiS2pv8t8

Adventure Begins at the Library This Summer!

Last week and this week the Fairfax County Public Library (FCPL) came to visit Haycock to talk to students about the summer reading program.

FCPL understands the importance of summer reading. Reading and participating in engaging reading activities throughout the summer are two effective ways to help students retain skills they learned in school this year.

The Summer Reading Adventure kicks off on Wednesday, June 12. Join the adventure and register today
