Letter From Ms. Salata and Mrs. Younger

Dear Clermont Families,

As we finish up the fabulous 2023-2024 school year, thank you for trusting us with your wonderful children! It has been a great year watching your children grow and flourish. On behalf of the staff at Clermont, we wish you and your families a wonderful summer break. For those of you who like to plan ahead the school supply list is posted on our website. If you choose to order school supplies, which will be delivered right to your child’s desk before the first day of school, the link is School Supplies. This will be the last Eaglegram of the 2023-24 school year. However, please stay tuned for more updates coming over the summer about the 2024-25 school year.

Have a safe and enjoyable summer!

Warmly,

Ms. Salata and Mrs. Younger, Principals

School Health Room Medication Pick Up

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site  on  the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).

If you have any questions, please contact our school health room aide, Tina Buckingham, at tjbuckingham@fcps.edu, or our school public health nurse, Hassan Sesay at hsesay1@fcps.edu.

Paula Treger, counselor, poses with a student holding a sign that says "Thank you for helping us grow"

This week during our school-wide morning meeting we celebrated Paula Treger, who will be retiring after almost 27 years as a counselor at Clermont Elementary. We will miss you Mrs. Treger!!!!

The PTA Needs You!

As we approach the end of the school year, we are still in search of a Vice President of Enrichment for the 2024-2025 school year. If we are unable to find one, we will have to say goodbye to some school-favorite events such as International Festival, Science Festival, Math Nights, and more. We need your help! Whomever fills this role will not work alone - they will have support from event chairs, committee members, fellow board members, and school admin & staff! But without a board member to oversee these efforts, we will be unable to continue to plan these events for the upcoming school year.

Here is what is required from this role:

* Attend (1) virtual board meeting per month

* Attend (4) virtual or in-person membership meetings per year

* Oversee committee/event chairs for activities and groups that fall under this role, including:

  • International Festival
  • Science Festival
  • Math Nights
  • Veteran's Day
  • Odyssey of the Mind
  • Learning Garden
  • Run at Recess

If you are willing to assist in joining our board, please reach out as soon as possible to president@clermontpta.org. We will vote on Monday, June 10th to elect the new board for the school year. Thank you!

A high school student holding a drawing of a monster poses with a kindergarten student holding a sculpture of a monster.

Recently, Clermont kindergarteners collaborated with sculpture students at Edison High School. The kindergarteners imagined and drew monsters, while the Edison sculpture students brought them to life with clay. On June 6th, students from both schools displayed their works during a special art show in the Clermont cafeteria.
