A Message from the Principal, Dr. Jemison

Our students are continuing to make a big “Splash” in academics and school attendance. Currently, our absenteeism rate is at 14%. We are seeing a large number of students continuing to go strong during the final days of the school year.

As we prepare for the final stretch, we encourage all students to continue giving their best effort. We understand that everyone is beginning to feel a touch of summer fever. However, please help us by reminding our students that the expectation of kind words and positive behavior is still required. Let us finish the school year strong, embracing every learning opportunity and making lasting memories.

Please also note that daily attendance is counted until dismissal on the last day of school on Wednesday, June 12th.  It is important that your child continues to show up each day. We only have 8 school days left to go but know that we are just as excited to see your child today as we were on the first day of school.

Together we are and will continue to be Fort Belvoir strong!

Dr. LaZedrick (Zed) Jemison, Principal

Congratulations to Lori Rossett, Fort Belvoir Primary’s School Health Aid (SHA), on her retirement! Ms. Rossett has been with the school for 13 years, starting her career when Fort Belvoir Elementary was housed in a single building. Throughout her tenure, she has witnessed countless students grow and achieve their lifelong goals. We thank Ms. Rossett for her unwavering dedication to the Fort Belvoir Primary school community and wish her all the best in her retirement!

Please join us as we shower her with hugs and well wishes during these final days of the school year!

Inspiring Moments for Fort Belvoir Primary Students

Pic

We are thrilled for our former Fort Belvoir Elementary students who recently graduated from Mount Vernon High School. This past Friday, the graduating seniors returned to their roots, walking the halls of their old elementary school. Our current students lined up to give high-fives to these accomplished seniors, beaming with pride and admiration. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and inspiration, a testament to the strong community bonds and the journey of growth and learning that our school fosters.

Seeing the seniors in their caps and gowns was a powerful reminder of the milestones our students achieve. It was a moment that underscored the dedication and perseverance of our former students, and it deeply inspired everyone in the building. We wish each of these remarkable individuals all the best as they embark on their future endeavors. Their success is a source of great pride for our entire school community, and we are confident they will continue to achieve great things.

FCPS End of Year Medication Disposal and Pick Up Guidance

Fort Belvoir Primary Elementary School - health room is reminding families that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is a district policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with a student. However, with parent or guardian permission, a high school student may transport over-the-counter medications to and from the school health room. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of the school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).
