Lost and Found

Lost and Found

Please come by our lobby from 8am-4:30pm next week, Monday-Friday and check out our lost and found. Anything that doesn't get picked up next week will be donated to a local charity.

ATTENTION Lees Corner Readers!

Have some summer reading fun with the Olympics! Students will receive a paper copy of TIC TAC TOE the last week of school.  Be sure to look at page 2 for our LCES LIBRARY SUMMER HOURS the month of July! Come check out some books from our library!

Keep Your Kiss ‘n Ride Placard

If you have a child still attending Lees Corner next year, please keep your Kiss ‘n Ride card in a safe place for the summer.  Your family will continue to have the same number and we hope to avoid re-printing cards in the Fall.

Thanks for helping us conserve paper!

Students in grades 3-6 will be bringing home their recorders for the summer in the next week.  Please make sure to wash the recorder with dish soap and launder the bag.  Please place it in a safe place as it will need to come back to school in September!  Have a lovely summer!

puzzle hunt

Fairfax County is hosting its 1st Puzzle Hunt!

When: Launches June 15, 2024

The Solving Fun Puzzle Pals have been hard at work, creating an exhilarating adventure for puzzle solvers. We are thrilled to announce the Fairfax County Puzzle Hunt, a unique community event that will take you on a journey to the wonderful parks in Fairfax County. Starting this summer, solve one puzzle or do them all. Puzzles are filled with creative thinking, logic, and wordplay. They are designed to be challenging and accessible for all skill levels. Solve the puzzles and then find clues at the parks for a final meta-puzzle. Walk, bike, and roll at our wonderful local parks with friends and family. For more information go to  www.solvingfun.com/fairfax.

BAND INSTRUMENT RETURNS:

Band is not over yet!  We still have classes through the last week of school and students should continue bring their instruments to class.  If you rented from a music store, please continue to rent the instrument through the remainder of the year.

If your child rented an instrument from school (Lees Corner owned or FCPS owned) please return it to school with your child during their Band class before the last day of school.  We will keep those instruments at school for their use during class for the remainder of the year.  Of course, you may return your instrument sooner to the front office if you will not be here the last week of school.

INSTRUMENT MUST BE LABELED WITH THE STUDENT’S FULL NAME!!

Parents of 6th Graders: Donate now for the 2024 6th Grade Class Gift

The LCES PTA is collecting donations for a class gift for Lees Corner Elementary School. If you would like to donate, please donate to the Lees Corner PTA 2024 Class Gift Fund here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/...

We have some ideas for things for the school to be displayed after the renovation, such as a Spirit Rock that perhaps could go in the new courtyard or a stained glass hanging that could be displayed in the entryway. We will make our decision based on the amount we raise. If you have ideas please email leescornerpta@outlook.com.

Donations should be received by June 10, 2024.

school supplies

School Supply Orders

The PTA is offering parents the convenient services of prepackaged supply kits. This service by The Write Stuff ensures your child or children have the school supplies they need next year without having to run to several different stores to find them. This year, the sales from the school supplies will benefit the PTA.

Each kit will contain exactly what is on your child’s supply list.

Supplies can be ordered using the link below

https://www.write-stuff.com/storefront/school/leescorner

Orders placed online by June 16, 2024 will be sent directly to Lees Corner. Orders can still be placed online until July 10, 2024 but will include a delivery fee and be sent to your home address.

If school supplies are ordered by June 16th and shipped to the school, the box will be delivered directly to your students’ classroom by the open house date.

If you have any questions, please contact LCES PTA at leescornerpta@outlook.com.

Yearbooks: Did You Forget to Order Yours?

If you missed out on ordering a yearbook, we will have a limited number of extras for sale on a first come, first serve basis.  6th graders requests will be honored first.

If you are interested in purchasing one please complete this form. This list is the order in which you will be notified of availability. Yearbooks will be $20, cash only.

Yearbooks will be given out the last week of school with 6th graders getting theirs first.
