Principal's Corner
Garfield Families:
This is our last full week of school. There is lots of excitement in the air. Last week, we hosted the Lancer graduates who attended Garfield in elementary school, welcomed kindergarten parents for the Kindergarten Success Day and Potluck, applauded our 6th graders who performed their puppet show musical, said farewell to our Madeira volunteers, held our Talent Show auditions and wrapped up our SOL testing.
Let's also congratulate the Lewis High School Boys Soccer Team. They won the District Championship, and on Friday won the Regional Championship. As a result, Lewis HS will host the State Quarterfinal game verses Herndon High School this Tuesday, June 4th at 7pm. The cost for admissions is $12 cash at the door. Follow their X formerly Twitter page @LewisLancers which gives an option for people to purchase tickets in advance online for $11.50. Let’s go Lancers!
There is more excitement to come as we wind down the school year! Check out our calendar - we need your support and participation.
Have a wonderful week.
Sincerely,
Linda Ferguson Liz Manning Larry Jones

Spotlight on Garfield!
Garfield hosted the Lewis High School Graduates who attended Garfield in elementary school. They were met with cheers, hugs, cards, posters, cookies and fun. After walking the halls and being greeted by the students and teachers, the graduates held a question and answer session with the 5th and 6th graders. The Lancer graduates talked about their plans for the future and gave sage advice to the students. We wish them all the best!
Recognize A Garfield Staff Member Who Goes Above and Beyond
Recognize a Garfield Employee through FCPS CARES. The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for families, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees, especially at Garfield Elementary School. We love our staff members; let's tell them how we feel!
