TC Promotion ceremony

Our 6th grade promotion ceremony was filled with a few laughs, some tears, and great cake!

TC Families,

It is hard to believe that we have only three days left of the 2023-2024 school year! This week was bittersweet as we held our 6th grade promotion ceremony today. We are excited for our rising 7th graders and the next chapter of their educational journey. We want to thank our 6th grade Parent Committee for the beautiful decorations, student swag bags, and refreshments at the end of the ceremony.

Please encourage your child to check the lost and found before unclaimed items are donated on June 12th.

As a reminder, we will have a 2 hour early release on Wednesday, June 12th. Dismissal will begin at 1:25 p.m.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Gidoni, Principal

Teresa Lewis, Assistant Principal

Important Information

Medication Pick Up

Medication stored in the school health room must be picked up by student dismissal on the last day of school to avoid destruction.

  • Parents or guardians must collect medications; they cannot be sent home with students.
  • High school students may transport over-the-counter medications with parental permission.
  • For summer programs by Fairfax County Public Schools, existing medication authorization forms can be used, but medication must be picked up on the last day of school and delivered to the summer learning site on the program's first day.

TCTV/Safety Patrol Applications for rising 5th and 6th graders

We are excited to announce that it's time for our TCTV news and Safety Patrol sign-ups for the 2024-2025 school year. If your rising 5th and/or 6th grade child is interested, please take a moment to have them fill out the form using their FCPS Google account: TCTV/Safety Patrol application

The selection process includes students completing the Google form, indicating their interest in becoming a member of TCTV News or Safety Patrol, teacher recommendations, and a review of citizenship grades from the current school year.

For students who apply but are not initially selected, they will be placed on a waitlist based on the specific area of need, whether it be for walker or bus duties.

TCTV and Safety Patrols will be announced the first week of school.

Virtual Mental Wellness Consultations

This summer, the FCPS Office of Intervention and Prevention Services will offer virtual Mental Wellness Consultations from Monday, June 24, through Friday, August 2. Any FCPS parent or secondary student can schedule a 45-minute consultation with a school psychologist or social worker by phone or videoconference.

Parents of students in any grade level can request a consultation to receive guidance on how to support their child’s social, emotional, and academic success. Information about community resources will also be provided.

Middle or high school students can request a consultation to receive guidance and support for concerns related to anxiety, mood, behavior, peer or family interactions, or school transitions and changes. Strategies and tools can also be provided to address academic challenges such as organization and time management.

We encourage all families to take advantage of this service. Request a consultation or call and leave a message at 703-503-2520.
