June 6: PTA Fundraiser Spirit Night -- Sweetfrog
June 12: Last Day of School and 2 hour early release
 Today, we invited all of our GBW alumni seniors (from Chantilly HS, Centreville HS, Fairfax HS, and Thomas Jefferson HS) to walk our GBW hallways one last time. Our entire school lined our hallways to cheer for the seniors who walked our hallways, followed by our 6th grade class of 2024. At the end of the long student parade, we also had Mrs. Dougherty (5th Grade Teacher who is retiring) walk the halls while we cheered for her as well. Congratulations to Seniors, 6th graders, and to Mrs. Dougherty on her retirement! Chantilly HS Seniors- I am so excited to cheer for you tomorrow at your graduation ceremony at George Mason University. To our 6th grade- I look forward to celebrating with you on Tuesday at our promotion ceremony at GBW.

Dear GBW Families,
Every year we have a tradition of having the entire GBW staff come outside and wave to our bus riders as the students leave on the last day of school. We will be continuing this tradition again this year, and we look forward to ending the year on a very high note as we cheer for students on their last day of school on Wednesday, June 12th!
Extra Class Pictures Available
for Purchase
We have a limited number of Lifetouch classroom pictures available for purchase, first come, first served. The cost to purchase a class picture is $10 cash or check made out to Greenbriar West Elementary School. Please email Sally Bippert to purchase one today!

GBW Summer Reading Activities
Bookmark the GBW Summer Reading Website, https://sites.google.com/view/gbw-summer-reading/home?authuser=1, to find reading programs, choice boards, and activities to keep your child busy all summer long!
Here are some of the things you will find…
- Capstone’s Virtual Summer Camp Adventure filled with bi-weekly choice boards filled with activities around reading, creating, coding, science, moving, technology, and more!
- Links to local reading programs (Fairfax County Public Library’s Summer Reading Adventure, Barnes and Noble, Fairfax County Puzzle Hunt, and Scholastic)

Please claim your items
As the end of the school year approaches, we are asking all students and parents to visit our LOST and FOUND section in the cafeteria. At the end of the school day on June 12, all unclaimed items will be donated to charity.
2024-25 Supply Lists
Get a head start on the 2024-25 school year by pre-purchasing your child's school supplies. Each Spring the GBW PTA offers the convenience of pre-packaged "supply kits" from Campus Survival Kits.
Instructions for online ordering can be found at www.campussurvivalkits.com/gbw, as well as on our GBW school homepage. Online ordering closes on July 15.
Supply kits ordered through Campus Survival Kits will be delivered to the school sometime in August. You will receive notification in August as to when your supply kit(s) will be available.
If you would like to purchase your own school supplies, supply lists, by grade level, can be found on our school website under the Academics tab.

It is never too late to join the PTA!
Joining the PTA doesn't mean you're signing your life away as a volunteer. It means you believe in the students, the staff, and the families at GBW.
