Dear Parklawn Family,

As we look forward to the 2024-2025 school year, I wanted to share some wonderful news. One of our assistant principals, Ms. Alison Meadows, will be transitioning into the new role of MTSS Coordinator at Parklawn. Ms. Meadows has been an amazing assistant principal for the last six years, and we know she will be fantastic in serving our community in this new role.

We are excited to welcome Ms. Liana Diaz-Rivera to Parklawn as our new assistant principal in the 2024-2025 school year! Ms. Diaz-Rivera is currently an assistant principal at Glasgow Middle School. She is already a member of the Justice Pyramid and will bring a wealth of instructional and leadership experiences to our school.  We cannot wait to introduce Ms. Diaz-Rivera to our school community as she continues her personal and professional journey in FCPS.

Liana Diaz-Rivera has 15 years’ experience in the field of education and four years in administrative leadership. Her educational background includes Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice from University of the Arts, a M. Ed. in Special Education from Grand Canyon University and a second M. Ed. in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University.  She is passionate about creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where all students can thrive. Her strengths lie in communicating with all stakeholders, fostering collaboration amongst staff and a data driven approach to education. She is beyond ecstatic to join the Parklawn community!
