Dear Families,
This afternoon, just before 3:00pm, we detected a burning smell in one area of our building. We immediately evacuated the building and notified the fire department. At no time did any students or staff report feeling ill or have any negative reaction to the odor.
We remained outside for approximately 35 minutes until the fire department determined that the building was safe for students and staff to return. We then resumed our scheduled classes and activities.
I am proud of how our students and staff followed directions, and we were able to maintain order and safety while we waited for the fire department to clear the building. Please be sure to tell your students how proud we are of their behavior today. We received a compliment from the Fire Department on how polite our students were throughout the process.
