8th Grade Dance

Save the date! The 8th grade Royal Ball is coming soon for our graduating 8th graders. Tickets will be available for purchase on Tuesday, June 4 through Thursday, June 6 during lunches.

Anyone interested in helping with decorations or volunteering please email Karen McGuinness @ karenmcguinness6@gmail.comHere is the sign up genius link for donations and volunteer slots for our dance. Although the students have chosen a theme of “Royal Ball” there is no dress code and we encourage the students to dress in whatever makes them feel comfortable.

Qualifications:

  1. All library books are due Wednesday, May 29th.  Students have been receiving overdue notices to their fcpsschools email.  We currently have 500+ overdue books that we’d love to have returned!  If your student has lost their book, the replacement cost is $10 for hardcovers and $5 for paperbacks, payable using MySchoolBucks or in cash to the Library. 8th grade students with overdue books will not be able to purchase an 8th grade dance ticket. Questions? Reach out to the librarians: SCMSLibrary@fcps.edu
  2. Do you owe for a broken laptop screen or keyboard?  Do you owe any fees? Please pay in MySchoolBucks or see Ms. Beyreuther to pay by cash or check.
  3. Student in good standing from a behavior standpoint - any questions see Ms. Norris, the 8th grade Assistant Principal.

Student Insurance

Risk Management handles numerous claims involving students injured during the school day. Many parents mistakenly believe that FCPS is financially responsible for medical bills resulting from these injuries. However, FCPS does not provide medical insurance for students. Parents do have the option to purchase low-cost Voluntary Student Insurance through K & K Insurance Group. This insurance can be especially valuable for those without other coverage and can help families with existing insurance cover expensive gaps caused by deductibles and co-pays.

Coverage is available for purchase at any time during the school year.
