L Monahan FCPS Cares

Congratulations to Mrs. Monahan for being selected as the Region 4  FCPS Cares recipient for the month of April!

TC Families,

As we approach the final weeks of this school year, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on our journey together and to provide some important updates and reminders as we close out the year. It has been an extraordinary year of learning, growth, and community, and we are so grateful for the support and dedication from our families, teachers, and students.

  • We will be holding our 6th grade promotion ceremony on Friday, June 7th at 9:00 am. Non-transferable tickets will be sent home with students on Wednesday, June 5th.
  • Library Books: Please return all library books by Friday, June 7th. Ms. Petruzzellis needs time to inventory and prepare for the next school year.

  • Lost and Found: Our lost and found is overflowing! Please encourage your child to check for any missing items. Unclaimed items will be donated on Wednesday, June 12th.

  • Progress Reports: Final progress reports will be sent home on the last day of school. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child's teacher.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Rebecca Gidoni, Principal
Teresa Lewis, Assistant Principal

TCTV/Safety Patrol Applications for rising 5th and 6th graders

We are excited to announce that it's time for our TCTV news and Safety Patrol sign-ups for the 2024-2025 school year. If your rising 5th and/or 6th grade child is interested, please take a moment to have them fill out the form using their FCPS Google account: TCTV/Safety Patrol application

The selection process includes students completing the Google form, indicating their interest in becoming a member of TCTV News or Safety Patrol, teacher recommendations, and a review of citizenship grades from the current school year.

For students who apply but are not initially selected, they will be placed on a waitlist based on the specific area of need, whether it be for walker or bus duties.

TCTV and Safety Patrols will be announced the first week of school.

Optional Parent Input - 2024-2025 Class Placements

As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, our staff collaborates regarding student placements.  A variety of factors such as student personalities, friendships, and academic abilities are considered as we create our new classes.  Other factors impacting the decision-making process of student class assignments are new student enrollments and teachers moving to a new assignment.

Terra Centre families may assist in this process by sharing insights. Please note the following when providing information. We do not accept requests for specific teachers for the upcoming grade placement.  This includes hints that reference specific teachers.  We cannot guarantee friend requests nor exceptions for other students whereby there may be a conflict. We do our best to create a positive learning year for your child.

Please provide your input by submitting this form as it will ensure we have your request.  Please do not email us additional information.  Completion of the form is optional. However, the deadline for any correspondence is Friday, May 31st at 4:00 PM. Thank you for your input.
