Dear Bush Hill Families,
I hope this letter finds you well. It is hard to believe that we are in the final few days of the 2024-25 school year!
A Look Back:
Concerts!
The last two Thursdays, our school gymnasium came alive with the beautiful sounds of spring concerts! It was truly a joy to witness the culmination of our 5th and 6th graders' hard work and dedication throughout the year in band, strings, and chorus. Their talent and enthusiasm shone through each performance.
A special thank you goes to Mr. Smith, Mr. Sorenson, Ms. Carbone, and Ms. Utz for their tireless dedication to our young musicians and singers. Their passion and expertise are evident in the students' achievements.
On a personal note, I must admit that having the opportunity to guest conduct a song with the band brought back some wonderful memories from my own high school marching band days! Thank you, Mr. Sorenson and students for inviting me to join you!
This coming Thursday, we are looking forward to our final spring concert of the year. Our 4th grade strings students will be performing for us and we look forward to hearing them!
Field Trip:
Last Tuesday, our 5th graders went on a fantastic field trip to the Science Museum in Baltimore. They had a day filled with exploration and learning that will spark their curiosity and imaginations.

Field Day:
Tomorrow, June 5, is our Field Day. We are keeping a close eye on the weather. Currently, there are thunderstorms forecast, which means we may have to delay our event to next Monday. Please stay tuned!
Moving Up Day:
Students will learn about their next grade level on Thursday of this week! Students will briefly visit a classroom and hear about the exciting things they will do and learn about next year.
We have so many exciting things planned over the next few days to celebrate our students and community!

End of Year Social June 7th
Come to our summer send-off on June 7th from 6-8pm! We'll be celebrating the end of the school year with food trucks, music and lots of fun! Please bring lawn chairs or blankets for your family to sit on. The PTA wants to thank you for all of your support during the 2023-2024 school year!

A Bush Hill ES Fundraiser
Consider making your student or loved one’s legacy permanent at Bush Hill Elementary School by purchasing a brick to be placed on our brick path between Door 3 and Door 5. The bricks will be placed there among the other legacy bricks. We have two brick options to choose from. Bricks purchased now until May 24, 2024, will be laid in late summer 2024. Bricks purchased after May 24th, 2024, will be laid by Spring of 2025. All profits raised will be used to support student events, materials and supplies for Bush Hill ES.

Chantilly Academy will host an AFA CyberCamp from Monday, June 24, to Friday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. This camp would be a great fit for rising fifth through eighth graders of all skill levels interested in learning more about the importance of cybersecurity and gaining skills to protect themselves and others from cyber threats. Discounts are available for students eligible for free and reduced-price meals. Visit the camp website for more information.
