Mrs. Settel and Her "Twins" on Twin Day
From the Principal's Den
We are pleased to announce that our SOL testing period has successfully concluded. Our 3rd-6th grade students have worked incredibly hard, showing resilience and dedication throughout the testing window. We are proud of their efforts and appreciate your support at home. Please note that when a student takes a SOL test, families will receive a custom score report within 2-4 weeks of the close of the window. Most families receive reports through the Student Information System (SIS) ParentVUE.
As we prepare for the final stretch, we encourage all students to continue giving their best effort. We understand that everyone is beginning to feel a touch of summer fever. However, please help us by reminding our students that the expectation of kind words and positive behavior is still required. Let us finish the school year strong, embracing every learning opportunity and making lasting memories.
Please also note that daily attendance is counted until dismissal on the last day of school on June 12. It is important that your child continues to show up each day. We only have 8 school days left to go but know that we are just as excited to see your child today as we were on the first day of school.
Thank you for your partnership in education!
Patty Settel Assistant Principal

Medication Pick Up Deadline - June 12th
The Fort Hunt ES health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the 1:40pm on June 12th.
Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. However, with parent or guardian permission, a high school student may transport over-the-counter medications to and from the school health room.
If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).
