What's Happening at Mount Eagle May 24, 2024

Music was in the air! Congratulations to Mr. Medina and our Grades 5 & 6 Chorus. They performed several songs at our All School Morning Meeting on Thursday. Next Friday we'll hear from our Band & Strings students at 2:30pm for their concert. Wear your Mount Eagle spirit wear to celebrate!

THANK YOU Families!

Our hearts and bellies were full on Thursday with our favorite potluck luncheon. Once again, you outdid yourselves. Our entire staff wishes everyone a relaxing three-day weekend. We'll see you all on Tuesday, May 28 as we enter the final stretch of the 2023-24 school year.

Medication Pick-up

If your child has medication at school, it must be picked up in person by the last day of school, Wednesday, June 12. Medication must be picked up by the parent/guardian. Please connect with Ms. Townes, our school health aide, with any questions at 703.721.2110.

Test Results for Parents

Our students have taken a variety of assessments this month. Family score reports for most spring assessments will be centrally distributed to families through SIS ParentVUE, with central mailing ongoing for VKRP assessments. As a school, we  have the responsibility to mail out those results to families without ParentVUE accounts. Please see the timeline for when these assessment results will be delivered.

  • iReady Grade 1-3 - expected in ParentVUE the week of 6/3 (non-ParentVUE delivery by the end of this year)
  • iReady Grade 4-6 - expected in ParentVUE the week of 6/24 (non-ParentVUE delivery before the start of next school year)
  • VKRP Grade PreK-K - expected central delivery via U.S. Mail the week of 7/8

Get Involved with Your PTO

At Mount Eagle, every parent is a member of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). It's a great way to connect with other parents, learn about how to support your child and to have fun! There are many ways where you can share your voice, talents and time. Check out the PTO Website for more information. It's available in multiple languages.

Parent/Guardian Handbook

Do you have questions about attendance or food/drink at school or what students can wear?  If so, please check out our Parent/Guardian Handbook on our Mount Eagle website. It's available with translations. Click here to access it. Of course, if you have a question about a situation that is not listed, reach out to your child's teacher or an administrator. Their contact information is at the bottom of this newsletter.

Your Partners In Education

We are honored to work with your family this year and will work everyday to ensure a safe and positive learning environment for your child. We can't do it alone. Please contact us when there is a question or concern, especially related to bullying. As a parent, you will often hear about something before staff might. Thank you for all your support.
