Did You Know...

Nauman Naeem MD from Psychology Today writes, “At any given moment there are hundreds of entities vying for our attention — whether they are people we are close to, workplace associates, email accounts, social media, popular culture, marketing and advertising, and global events.” This attention seeking is usually to fulfill someone else’s agenda. People fear being bored but in reality, it means nothing needs your attention in that moment. Here is the full article, The Beauty of Stillness

Senior Chromebook Collection:

Our school technology team will be collecting Chromebooks and chargers from seniors on May 28th, 2024. Details are outlined below.

Important: Failure to return both the Chromebook and charger will result in a financial obligation that must be resolved to receive a cap and gown.

  • Laptop (Chromebook): $433.00
  • Charger: $23.00

May 28th, 2024: Collection during all lunch periods in the lounge area outside the Library/Tech Office (Rm. 2213).

We strongly encourage all seniors to return their Chromebooks and chargers on these designated dates to avoid delays in receiving your cap and gown.

Grade Push Outs

In an effort to ensure parents are informed of student progress, Langley HS has established ‘push-out’ days.  On these days, teachers will 'push out' grades to ensure grades are up-to-date for students/ families to best assess their current grade.  Please be on the look out for these emails from your child’s teacher!  If you do not receive any communication, please reach out to the teacher directly.

9-11th Grade:

2-weeks out: Wednesday, May 29th

For SENIORS:  The last day of classes will be May 24th.  Seniors who have medications may keep them in the Health Room until after AP testing and graduation activities are complete.

For ALL OTHER STUDENTS:  The last day of classes is June 12th.

Prescription Medications (Epi-pens, Inhalers, ADHD, etc.):  Must be picked up by a parent.  Please sign in at the main office.  PLEASE NOTE:  if a student self-carries their epi-pen or inhaler and keeps one in the health room, the student may pick it up.

Over-the-counter Medication:  Students may pick up these medications and take them home.  They may be picked up at the end of the day between 2:45-3:00pm any time before the end of the year.
