Heart

Dear Cardinal Families,

We are excited to welcome Lilethe Palza as our new Family Liaison. Our family liaison serves as a vital bridge between our school community and families. Family Liaisons work tirelessly to ensure all families feel welcome, informed, and empowered to support their child's education. This includes translating documents and communications into different languages, helping families navigate school procedures and resources, and connecting them with important community services. By building strong relationships with families from all backgrounds, our family liaison fosters a collaborative environment where everyone can work together for student success. Read below for a message from Ms. Palza and please reach out to her by calling the main office or emailing her at lscastellonp@fcps.edu if you need support.

Warmly,

Allison Hoak, Principal

Jon Kemmerer, Assistant Principal

LCP

Welcome, Ms. Palza!

Hello, I'm Lilethe Palza, your new Family Liaison. I am originally from Bolivia, with a background in Social Communication, mostly in radio. My passion lies in social services and my recent job was working for a non-profit organization that serves undocumented children in the process of becoming reunited with their families. I have two decades of experience working with children from multicultural and diverse backgrounds. I seek opportunities to enhance communities, particularly in Family Services and Community Engagement. I firmly believe that strong families are the cornerstone of thriving communities, and I am eager to continue working towards this goal.

As an immigrant, I empathize with the challenges parents face, which often limit their engagement in the school system. I have co-facilitated various bilingual programs and witnessed the transformation as parents actively participated and found fulfillment in the course. Motivated by this impact, I hope to leverage my expertise towards this mission. I am grateful for the opportunity to be the Family Liaison at Cunningham Park Elementary School!

💊Medication Pick Up

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school June 12th, 2024 at 1 pm.  Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site  on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).

🏫Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow. We All Belong Here!

In FCPS, we all belong. From the first day of school, to the last day of school, every child matters. If your student is having a hard time finishing the year strong and attending school, please contact a trusted adult at the school—a teacher, counselor, or administrator. Visit FCPS’ website for more attendance resources.
