Message from Mrs. Castillo

Trout

Congratulations to our 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th graders for completing their SOL testing this week! The students have done incredible and we appreciate the collaboration with parents to ensure our lions were ready for their tests.  We will have makeups and expedited retakes over the next two weeks.

The new grades 3 - 6 biking unit has been so much fun to see in action.  Thank you Mr. Hickman & Mr. VT for this new addition!

Last Friday, our 1st graders went to Frying Pan Farm Park and many of our 6th graders went to release our brook trout into the Chesapeake Bay with Mrs. Busch.

Congrats to all our Girls on the Run participants who finished a wet 5K on Saturday!  Thank you Ms. Maughlin and all our coaches for making this happen at Lemon Road!

Rising 4th - 6th Grade Music Selection

Grades 4 - 6 students at Lemon Road have the option of playing an instrument as a part of their music program.  Grade 4 students can play a strings instrument.  Students in grades 5 & 6 can choose a band or strings instrument.  Instruction is a part of specials each week and we hold a winter and spring concert annually.  Parents, please open this link to watch the videos of instrument choices with your child.  All rising 4th - 6th graders will need to identify their preference (band, strings, or general music) by June 10, 2024.  The videos and selection information is available at this link.  We recommend not submitting final decisions until after recruitment on May 29th.
