60th Anniversary Photo Collage

Reunions, games, and Roadie the Roadrunner! Our 60th Anniversary celebration was a heartwarming success, filled with laughter and community spirit.

60th Anniversary Photo Collage

Big smiles and bigger connections! These photos showcase the warmth of our 60th Anniversary. We see alumni catching up with old yearbooks, while current Kindergarten IA and LRES alum, Mrs. Nancy Tran introduces a young student to her son, Mr. Anthony Tran, who was an alum and special guest speaker! This heartwarming exchange shows how Little Run fosters lifelong bonds across generations.

Step back in time and celebrate the future! This photo spread features our amazing time capsule display, filled with both historical treasures and exciting student contributions. We were honored to have Ms. Becky Baenig, Region 5 Assistant Superintendent, join the festivities. Even our veteran teachers had a chance to reconnect with former Principal Ms. Janet Johnson. From history lessons to joyful reunions, it was a day filled with fun for everyone!

A Message from the Admin Team

60th Anniversary Admin Team Photo

Dear Little Run Family,

The rain may have fallen, but it couldn't dampen the spirits of our incredible Little Run family at our 60th Anniversary Celebration last Saturday! It was a day filled with laughter, heartwarming stories, and a renewed sense of community pride.

The highlight of the event was the turnout. We were thrilled to see so many of you braving the elements to celebrate this milestone with us. A special welcome to Ms. Becky Baenig, our FCPS Region 5 Assistant Superintendent, former Little Run Principals Ms. Janet Johnson and Ms. Sharon Baumgarten, and Little Run alumnus Mr. Anthony Tran. Their presence added a special touch and brought back cherished memories.

The stories shared throughout the day were truly inspiring. Tales of perseverance, love, and success resonated deeply, reminding us of the incredible foundation Little Run has built over six decades. It's these stories, coupled with the warm hugs, laughter, and pure joy we witnessed, that make us so proud to serve this amazing community.

A huge thank you to our dedicated PTA President, Ms. Becky Steffan, for making the magic happen. Her tireless efforts ensured a smooth and wonderful celebration. We were also thrilled to unveil our new red roadrunner mascot, "Roadie" – a name chosen with the help of our very own students!

The 60th Anniversary Celebration was a true testament to the strength and spirit of Little Run. Here's to 60 more years of fostering this incredible environment of learning, connection, and community.

Warmly,

Christie Yarn, Principal

Lesley Hassen, Assistant Principal
