Your efforts in getting your students to school on time truly make a difference. A smooth start to the day allows them to feel relaxed and prepared to do their best on important assessments.
We appreciate your understanding of the importance of punctuality and your commitment to your child's academic success.

We are excited to invite you to a special event showcasing the creativity and hard work of our 7th-graders. Please join us for the Agents of Change Final Presentations!
June 10th from 12:50 PM to 2:15 PM
As part of an innovative cross-curricular project linking English and History, our students were tasked with a compelling challenge: "How can you, as a budding comic book writer for Marvel/DC Comics, design a hero who promotes positive change in our modern-day world?"
Throughout this project, our students have delved into the historical impacts of key figures from the Civil Rights Movement and imagined how these influences could shape a superhero who exemplifies positive change.
7th Grade DC Field Trip
Request for Chaperones
We are looking for parent chaperones for our end-of-year field trip to Washington, DC! On Tuesday, June 11, all 7th-grade students will participate in a scavenger hunt, taking them to iconic memorials around the National Mall. Chaperones will lead groups of up to 10 students as they try to solve riddles that can only be answered by physically locating clues at locations such as the Washington Monument and Vietnam War Memorial. If you are interested in chaperoning this trip, please complete this Google Form by Sunday, May 19. See below for more details on the trip.
Email your child's history teacher if you have any questions before volunteering.
Standards of Learning (SOL) Testing Notification
Students will be testing on the following dates:
- May 16th - Math SOL (8th-graders)
- May 20th - Science 8 SOL
Families received an email notification about the SOL testing in March . Please ensure you take note of these important details.
Student Celebrations
Cooper Quiz Bowl Competed at MSNCT 2024
The Cooper Quiz Bowl team traveled to Chicago for the Middle School National Championship Tournament this past weekend. 160 teams competed in the tournament. To qualify to compete in the MSNCT, a team has to rank in the top 15% at a regional level tournament, which is not an easy feat.
Cooper A (Ray Z., Amelia D., Alexander F., Leo W., Alyna S.) went 6-2 during the preliminary rounds and advanced into the playoffs. They ended with 33rd place.
Cooper B (Arjun K., Brian H., Prthika L., Richard D., Sophie J.) went 4-4 in the preliminary rounds.
Individually, Ray was awarded the #11 All-Star in the field of 788 players.
Congratulations to the team for their hard work and solid performance at the nationals!

FCPS Online Campus Summer Courses are open for registration and available to eligible middle school students who meet prerequisites and technical requirements. High School Credit Courses
High school credit-bearing courses will be reflected on the middle and high school transcripts. In accordance with Virginia state regulations, FCPS Regulation 2408 permits parents of students who take a high school credit-bearing course in middle school to request that the grade be omitted from the student's high school transcript and the student not earn high school credit for the course. Parents must make this request no later than the end of the first nine weeks of the school year following completion of the course. The request to expunge as well as guidelines and the procedures for expunging grades for high school courses taken in middle school can be found at the following link: https://www.fcps.edu/sites/default/files/media/forms/is104.pdf
Contact your student’s counselor with any questions.
