Every year we have to say farewell to some of our amazing staff members. This year we have three teachers retiring after many years of committed service. We're sad to be saying good bye to Nina Rumohr, Kathleen Linehan and Carmen Alvarez-Keefer.
Please help us celebrate these amazing ladies Wednesday, June 5th at 4:00 PM in the cafeteria.
We loved celebrating our amazing volunteers today! We are incredibly grateful to our many volunteers for their hours of work.

Congratulations to the FCPS Parent Orchestra on their fantastic Spring Concert performance from May 9th at Annandale HS auditorium!
Many of our own Wakefield Forest ES parents (Mrs. Barrows, Mrs. Borlinghaus, Mrs. Crowder, Mrs. Osten, Mrs. Pocock) participated and performed with the Parent Orchestra this year!
We had over 200 parents sign up this year!
Parents in the Parent Orchestra learned how to play a string instrument or returned to their string instrument since childhood in the Parent Orchestra. 😊
Ms. Lubinski conducted the “Previous Experience” (Intermediate) group.
Ms. Lubinski learned a great deal about and appreciates the support network of parents for their students who learn a string instrument. 😊
There will be a 2024-5 sign up at the start of the next school year.
Congrats, again, to our parent orchestra parents!”
Students in 4th and 5th grades can apply to be a WFES Safety Patrol for the 2024-2025 school year. Students that are in 5th grade, currently serving as a Safety Patrol, have an option to apply to be an Officer.
Students already learned about the application process during PE Class. WFES Patrol Co-Sponsors, Ms. Massimo and Ms. Maxwell-Gold, explained the process, reviewed the qualifications and showed students how to apply.
Wednesday, May 22th – Applications are due. (Late applications will not be accepted.)
Friday, May 31st – Patrol and Officer selections announced (letters will be given to students at the end of the school day).
