LRES Community News 5.12.24

Message from Mrs. Castillo

Principal

Happy Mother's Day! Each of you plays a pivotal role in the growth and development of our Lions, offering love, wisdom, and encouragement. Your impact is immeasurable, and our community is richer and stronger because of your dedication and care. We celebrate you today and every day.

On behalf of the entire Lemon Road staff, I want to express our gratitude for your incredible efforts during our staff appreciation week last week!  The PTA did an amazing job coordinating and supporting food, drinks, gifts, raffles, and yoga throughout the week.  The Taylor Swift theme really hit the spot. Everyday was filled with a genuine sense of love and support. Your thoughtfulness went a long way in boosting morale and reminding us how much you value our hard work.  Thank you for making us feel so appreciated!

This is the last big week of SOL testing with a focus on math in grades 3 - 6.  Be sure your child gets a full night sleep, healthy breakfast, wears comfortable layers, and arrives to school on time (by 8:15 AM) to ensure the most optimal testing environment.  Our lions are doing great and can use your help for one more week.  Thank you parents!

Last week we held our spring bike/walk/roll to school event and it was a huge success.  As a reminder, our 3rd - 6th graders are also participating in their biking unit in PE.  They are encouraged to bring a helmet and/or bike to school on their PE days if they are able.  FCPS has provided bikes and helmets for all students to use for full participation in this awesome new unit.

Friday, Ms. Ulsh and I spent the day with our amazing Principal and Assistant Principal of the day.  It might have been more fun for us than them!
