Principal's Message

Dear Freedom Hill Families,

It is with bittersweet feelings that I ask you to see the message below, in which Mr. Kopacz, our Assistant Principal, announces his departure from Freedom Hill at the end of the school year. As many of our families know, Mr. Kopacz has provided a high level of support to our community over the last five school years, and his impact has been significant. While we are losing a steadfast, positive, and student-centered leader, I take comfort in knowing that Mr. Kopacz now has the opportunity to similarly impact another school, and to live very close to home to maximize his time with his wife and son.

As summer draws closer, I hope you will join me in celebrating his five years of contributions to our community! Mr. Kopacz will be missed but remembered very fondly.

In partnership,
Nicholas Zapadka, Principal

Message from Mr. Kopacz

Dear Freedom Hill Community,

It is with mixed emotions that I announce I will be leaving Freedom Hill at the end of the school year to be the Assistant Principal at Hunt Valley Elementary School. In my five years of working here I have met engaged, hard-working students and caring, enthusiastic families. Freedom Hill is a special school with an exceptional culture that can’t be found just anywhere. It has been wonderful to be a part of this community and to experience such a positive school environment. From parent volunteers for after school events, programs like Watch D.O.G.S., and dedicated PTA members, it is clear that Freedom Hill is a great nest for students. Coupled with the incredible teachers and staff I have worked with, it is no wonder why Freedom Hill is such an excellent place to be. Finally, the students are truly one of a kind. Their passion and enthusiasm make coming to Freedom Hill every day a joy. I will never forget the people I have met on this part of my journey. I am proud to have served the Freedom Hill community over these last years and thank you all for your support.

Wishing everyone the best and many more happy school years to come,

Eric Kopacz
