Teaching is Heart Work!

Teaching is "heart work," and we appreciate the enthusiasm and positivity our staff bring to our classrooms every day!

Dear CRES Community,

We hope this letter finds you filled with the same warmth and appreciation that you have shown our incredible staff during our combined Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. Your kindness and support have truly touched our hearts, and we cannot thank you enough for recognizing the hard work and dedication of our educators and staff members.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our PTA for their invaluable support and coordination of a myriad of treats! Their dedication made this week an exceptional celebration that included breakfast snacks, a luncheon, a coffee bar, and a raffle--among other goodies! Thank you, PTA, for your tireless efforts in making our school community feel valued.

Once again, we extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your ongoing support and for making Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week truly memorable. We appreciate our families so much!

Warmly,

Dr. Hertzberg, Ms. Wu, Ms. Baugh, Ms. Helmer, and Ms. Ford

Dismissal Routines

Dismissal: Important Student Safety Reminder

We kindly request your continued cooperation in adhering to Fairfax County Public Schools policies, particularly regarding the procedures for signing your children out of school, including from extracurricular activities. It is imperative that we follow these policies to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff members. Pre-K and Kindergarten parents, you are required to meet your child at the bus stop. Please be ready to share identification, as needed. This is to ensure your child gets off the bus at the correct stop and is in the care of a trusted adult. We also ask that all parents and caregivers regulate their emotions and language in the presence of children. We wish to emphasize the values of respect and kindness that we strive to instill in our students.

Standards of Learning Assessment Dates

Please be mindful of these remaining dates.

Students, in grades 3-6, will be taking end-of-year state assessments in literacy, math, and science (grade 5). Thank you for considering your child's schedule so that they are able to get enough rest and be prepared each day.
